Shared note | By 1881, William Arthur, (now 20), had left Shipton Moyne to live with big brother Charles, at 30, Liversage Street, Derby. He was married by then to Eva Georgina who was only 16 years old, but she was not living in Derby with him. We now have 2 brothers marrying 2 sisters. At 20 years old, William Arthur was working as a labourer at the Midland Railway, Derby. In 1891, William and Eva were living at 56, Hope Street, Derby and moved to 44, Alexander Street, Derby by 1901 where they lived with children Annie, Frederick, Nellie and Minnie. Research has taken us no further than this. It is believed that they had at least one other child, Rose, who was born after 1901. Added by GL on 1 Dec 2009: There is clearly some mistake in the first paragraph above, since William and Eva did not marry until 1888, as confirmed by the GRO data, and a copy of the Marriage Certificate in the possession of Alan Whitaker. |
