Colin also provided a scanned image of the letter. TRANSCRIPT OF LETTER FOUND IN THE OLD OVEN 1962, DURING THE MODERNISATION OF : "CUKOOS KNOB" 38, WOOTTEN RIVERS, MARLBOROUGH WILTS. DEAR MOTHER & FATHER, I HOPE THIS WILL FIND YOU ALL WELL AS IT LEAVES ME AT PRESENT, THANK GOD FOR IT DEAR MOTHER. GIVE MY LOVE TO MARTHA JANE, AND I HOPE YOU WILL ALL ACCEPT THE SAME. I WANT TO KNOW IF MATILDA IS AT HOME OR NOT, AND WOULD YOU HAVE HEARD FROM REBECCA OR NOT DEAR MOTHER. PLEAS~TO ASK JOHN AND MATILDA TO WRITE ME A FEW LINES BACK IF THEY PLEASE, FOR I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU ALL ARE. YOU MUST DIRECT MY LETTERS MR.
