| Note | George could be the George Eagle who married Susan Rugg (nee Board) in St Paul's, Hammersmith, Middlesex on 22 Aug 1880. He declared that his father was James Eagle, and the 1891 and 1901 Census Returns show that he was born in Burbage. He declared that he was 32 years old at the marriage. His marital status was originally entered as 'Widower' on the certificate (imagery at Ancestry.co.uk) but this is crossed through and 'Bachelor' written underneath. Susan's original status was stated to be 'Spinster', but this is crossed through and 'Widow' written instead. If this is the same George Eagle he died in the Wandsworth RD in Apr-Jun 1909, ref 1d 242, reported to be 64 years of age. Susan also died in the Wandsworth RD, in Jan-Mar 1908, ref 1d 325, aged 59. |
