Marriage

The 'MANUKA' 1903-1929

The ship 'Manuka', registered at the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand in 1903, weighed 4,505 tons and was a passenger ship, which travelled around New Zealand and between New Zealand and Australia. It ran aground at Long Point, near Otago, N.Z. on 16th December, 1929. There were no casualties.

Eli Abraham Lovelock, with his wife Emma Jane, and children, Phyllis 7, Mary 6, Norman 4, Lorna 2 and Joan 1 travelled on the 'Manuka' from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand, leaving Sydney on July 31, 1923 and arriving in Auckland on September??, 1923. The Captain's name was W.P. Collins. There were a total of 165 passengers on board, plus crew.
