Note	Apparently having mocked one Joseph Rogers, aged 65, William was struck on the temple by a pitchfork thrown by Rogers and died a day or two later. Joseph Rogers was indicted for manslaughter, and appeared at the Crown Court in Winchester on 14 July 1838. Having been found Guilty by the jury he was sentenced to 2 months' imprisonment with hard labour.
