Shared note | Janet Hearle's notes: Occupation: Engineer, later publican Cremated In a message sent to the Glamorgan-L mailing list 14-Nov-07 by EilGrffths@aol.com: From the Western mail April 1915 John Arthur WILLIAMS of 12 Scutari-row Taibach,Port Talbot, was charged with stealing 7 and a half pints of Worthington beer from the Talbot Arms Hotel, Taibach, the property of Mr. Edward LOVELUCK. Mr. Lewis H. THOMAS, prosecuted, and Mr.Gibson DAVIES, defended. Pleaded guilty fined 30s. Email from John Patrick (EilGrffths@aol.com) forwarded by Ron Davies 21-Nov-07: Western Mail May 11th 1915. Edward LOVELUCK, landlord of the Talbot Arms Hotel Taibach, Port Talbot, was fined £3. at Aberavon Police-court, for permitting drunkeness on his license premises on April 3rd, an the man found drunk was fined £1. Mr. Lewis M. THOMAS, defended. Mr. Evan Gibson DAVIES, represented the man named John Arthur WILLIAMS. The defence said it was a trumped up case. Mr. THOMAS gave notice of appeal. Note that although Edward marr Jane JOHN 27 Mar 1901, they were not together at the time of the 1901 census, which was taken on 31-Mar - each of them was with their respective parents. |
