Residence

No sign of Rees on 1881 census, but as this took place 4 days after his wife's death, he was probably still living at Whitney farm, but not present for the census and didn't complete a return elsewhere.

Residence

Baptism of son Richard 20 Sep 1868. Address in PR "Whitnea Farm"

Residence

Rees aged 39, living at Whitney farm, Merthyr Mawr with wife Catherine, daughters Margaret and Gwenllian and a servant.

Residence

Rees aged 39, farmer of 189-acre Whitney Farm, living with wife Catherine, daughters Margaret and Gwenllian, a dairy maid, domestic servant and three agricultural labourers.

Shared note

Farmed Whitney Farm, Merthyr Mawr Probably still at home (Candleston) in 1861 ( all of Merthyr Mawr data was missing from census). But Moved to Whitney Farm, Merthyr Mawr, before the birth of son Richard in September 1868. Presumably immediately after his marriage to Catherine JONES. Probably took over Whitney directly from Edward POWELL, who was still there in November 1864. No sign of him on 1881 census, but as this took place 4 days after his wife's death, he was probably still living at Whitney farm, but not present for the census and didn't complete a return elsewhere.
