Shared note | There is a child, Margaret Anne buried with William and Ann, who died on the 12th Dec 1914 aged 18 months. She is most probably their grandaughter. Ann and William lived for over thirty years at Balas Cottage, Cornelly. In her last years she was most probably living with one of her children, as she died at Persondy, St. Mary Hill. Local Newspaper Obituary (?Observer) Hard Work and Plain food Has helped her to reach the age of ninety nine Mrs. Anne Fabian, Persondy, St. Mary Hill, who celebrated her 99th. Birthday on Tuesday, has thrived thoughout her life on "hard work" and "good plain food". "And plenty of both," she told me when I interviewed her this week, writes a staff reporter. Her record seems to justify this assertion. In service at farmhouses until she married in the last day of May, 1873. Mrs. Fabian subsequently went out to work as a dairy maid and in her spare time she kept her own home "spick and span" and reared pheasants. Mrs. Fabian was born at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Kenfig, a hostelry which was kept at that time by her grandmother. Her father the late Mr. William Thomas, was the village blacksmith. At the age of four Mrs. Fabian started her education at both day school and Sunday school. She was one of the original pupils of the Calvinistic Methodist Sunday School when it was inaugurated at the Kenfig Town Hall. Her husband was a gamekeeper employed by the Magam Estate, and they lived for over 30 years at Balas Cottage, Cornelly.
