Shared note

Uncle Fred was wounded in WW1 in France. His pronounced limp did not prevent him from becoming Station Master at Spencer Street Railway Station (Melbourne's main country line station); there is a photo in the family of Uncle Fred greeting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip during their 1954 visit to Melbourne - in his capacity as station master.
