Shared note | Notes by Judith Jones: Lewis, my father, joined the merchant navy as a radio engineer and spent several years working for P & O, Cunard, and White Star before switching to Post Office Telecommunications and eventually settling in Shropshire. I'm not sure why he didn't stay in Glamorgan - I think to get away from farming - but he was very close to his family, supported them all his life, and always seemed to me to be very attached to (and interested in) the land - no surprise there. |
