| Note | Jocelyn Brock advises that Kathleen's family had arrived in Pontypridd from Cork in Ireland shortly before she was born. Kathleen eventually changed her name to a more English Catherine. She arrived in Kingston, Ontario as a governess in 1913. She then worked as a maid until she married a soldier Wesley George Thompson, b.17 July 1890 in Franklin, Ontario. They married in Kingston Ontario on 2 July 1916 and had a son George Wesley Thompson. Wesley (the father) drowned in one of the Great Lakes ? Lake Ontario - his body was never found. Catherine lived in Craven, Saskatchewan and died in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan of dementia on 26 March 1991. |
