Janet Hearle's notes: Emigrated to Chile. Apprenticed in Neath to Aunt's husband to be engineer. Emigrated from Swansea in a boat carrying metals & returning to Santiago. Had businesses in Santiago, Valparaiso. Note by James Loveluck: in fact, the 1861 census entry states that he was an apprentice ironmonger. From Susanne Loveluck-von Schenckendorff - He was a merchant who owned a department store in Santiago.
