By 1891 Maria [n e Farmer, William's mother] , now enumerated
as 88, had moved to Deane with son William 57 (who, to make matters even
more difficult to track, appears by the name of John Lovelock(!)) and his
wife Elizabeth 57 (aka Betsy nee Ball). Adding to the difficulty in
researching the family in this census, the Ancestry.com transcription for
William & Betsy's daughter Anna Maria Lovelock 24 in 1891 was written as
Maurice"! The family moved on to Pencroft Farm, Crondall by the time Maria
s death occurred in 1893, Betsy Ball Lovelock also died there in 1895 March
qtr, reg'd Basingstoke district, GRO 2c 174 aged 62. Maria's son William
remained resident at Crondall in 1901 aged 67, a widowed Horseman on Farm
