Fragment 6, Early Collected Lovelock Fragments, has John born Aldershot 1878.

RL 17/6/06: The series of census entries we have state his place of birth as Malta and no putative GRO entry can be found (using BMDIndex) 1876/80 - except the unlikely John L births registered in Pancras RD 3Q 1876, ref 1b 99, and Edmonton RD 3Q 1879, ref 3a 245. Age cited in 1901 is discrepant.
