RL 21/6/07: A combination of searches [GL and RL] on Free BMD and BMDIndex has yielded only two (not very convincing) 'possibles' (the RDs don't seem to 'work'): 1Q 1875 Butler, Florence - Islington, ref 1b 343 4Q 1875 Butler, Florence Anne - Brentford, ref 3a 75 We have the marriage details in Fulham RD 4Q 1899, ref 1a 499, and the image confirms 'plain' Florence. There seems to be no GRO marriage or death to 'explain away' 'Florence Anne', so in theory she remains a possibility; strictly age-wise she would almost certainly have been 25 at the date of the 1901 census [taken 31 March], whereas Florence whose birth was registered 1Q 1875 would have been 26. (Even if anything could be made of this, John's age appears to have been wrongly stated or entered in 1901.)
