Daily Telegraph 29 October 1903 p.7:

COOMA QUARTER SESSIONS.

COOMA, Wednesday.—The Quarter Sessions opened to-day, Judge Fitzhardinge presiding. Stephen Lovelock, farmer, living at Caddigat, near Adaminaby, was charged with stealing four sheep, the property of Matthew Shanley, grazier. He pleaded not guilty. The jury found a verdict of guilty, and recommended prisoner to mercy on the ground that he had a large family. His Honor passed a sentence of four months’ hard labor, refusing to treat sheep stealing as a minor offence as requested by the prisoner's counsel, and ordered the prisoner to enter into recognisances of £100, and find two sureties in £30 each, to be of good behaviour for two years; failing which, two extra months to be served, and prisoner to pay £50 to the prosecutor. William Lovelock was charged with stealing two sheep, the property of Matthew Shanley. His Honor directed an acquittal, which verdict was entered.

Manaro Mercury, and Cooma and Bombala Advertiser 9 December 1927 p.2:

Death of Mr. S. Lovelock

An elderly man, Mr. Stephen Lovelock, an old resident of Cooma, was found dead in his bed in a hut off Hill Street, at a late hour last night. Deceased had been seen by Mrs. Johnson, a near neighbour, on the previous day and as he was not about as usual yesterday, the hut was visited by Messrs T. Huggettt and C. Johnson, when he was found dead in bed. The body was conveyed to the hospital morgue, and a post-mortem examination held by Dr. Utber this day revealed the cause of death as fatty degeneration of the heart. Mr. W. H. Solomon, District Coroner, dispensed with an inquest and gave an order for interment.
