Certainly a Charlotte did, as you will find on FreeBMD, but for once there are only three names recorded for the Register page. The 1874 images are not available yet, so can't get any further with that. I wondered if in fact they had married previously in perhaps some non-conformist church and then later married in the C of E for some reason. I checked Ancestral Trails for any such precedents at this time. But the requirement for Catholics and Protestant dissenters to be married in the Anglican church (as well as their own if they wished to be legal) ended in 1837. If they weren't legally married, this might of course affect inheritance rights. Perhaps they really didn't marry until 1896? Graham L on 23 April 2014: Marriage Register imagery at Ancestry confirms the 1896 marriage, but provides no explanation for why they married then.

Shared note	From Jean Gilmore 12 Nov 2002: This afternoon I have found Eli Partridge and Phillip Winder the husbands of Jane and Charlotte Lovelock West Grafton Wiltshire on the electoral roll of 1896. They were living next door to each other Eli at 9 Victoria Place Battersea London and Phillip was living at 10 Victoria Place Unfortunately no other names available Jean Gilmore philip winder and Charlotte Lovelock born 1846 west grafton are to be found at the following places. 1885 7 Victoria place Battersea 1895 -1899 10 Victoria Place Battersea 1901 -1903 42 Havelock terrace 1904-1906 25 Henley street Battersea 1905 Philip has gone from the electoral roll but 1906 Charlotte, Mark and GEORGE? are listed but are allgone the following year Jean Gilmore From Jean Gilmore 12 Nov 2002: I found four children on 1891 maybe Alice was away from home. They were Mark Annie George and Frank. What I would like to know is what took them all to Battersea? Thomas,Charlotte , Jane and Charles were all living very close to each other. Jane and Charlotte were next door to each other. On the death of her husband Charlotte moved to Henley Street Battersea and her children were living there for sometime.
