| Note | Roy Neale advised that Arthur John Neale was a soldier in the 2nd Boer War and the 1st World War. He was a saddler in the army and a boot repairer in civil life, although he recorded his occupation as 'Brick Burner' in 1911. Arthur John continued with his boot repairing business until he decided to visit his sons in Australia in about 1938. When he wanted to return to the UK he discovered he couldn't because the 2nd World war had started. |
