Note

An article found by Sue Lovelock in the 'Swindon Advertiser' for Saturday 14 May 1892 reports:

"Shocking death - On Saturday, a young man named George Lovelock of Horton, Devizes, was jumping from a traction engine near Pewsey when he fell on his head and dislocated his neck. The deceased had been steering, and wanted to alight for a minute or two. He had previously had a share of some beer but he was quite sober. Before the accident had been discovered, the wheels of a timber carriage had gone over him."
