Note | Possibly another sister of Thomas born perhaps abt 1671 but of a different mother since Susanna died in 1678. "The Burials in Woollen Acts of 1666-1680 required that the dead (except plague victims) should be buried in shrouds made of pure wool. Furthermore, an affidavit (a statement on oath) had to be sworn before a Justice of the Peace ... confirming that the body had been buried in wool ... The legislation remained in force until 1814 was generally ignored after about 1770." Herber Mark D. Ancestral Trails, Sutton/SOG (1988) p.306. Apparently the legislation was intended to stimulate the local wool trade. Surname recorded as Lovelocke |
