| Note | Louise Irene was a tragic case of parental neglect. The jury at the inquest upon her death returned a verdict of 'Death from natural causes due to exhaustion', but severely censured the parents. The doctor who was called to see the child reported that she was extremely emaciated with very little flesh upon her bones and no food in her intestines. At the time of his examination both parents were the worse for liquor. |
