| Marriage of a child | James Lovelock — Eunice Smith — View this family 30 October 1872 (Age 57 years) Note: Note: In an e-mail dated 14-Oct-2005 Robin Lovelock noted the family of James Lovelock (born Pewsey abt 1847) and Eunice living in Chelsea in the 1901 census and suggested that this James Lovelock might be the son (born 1848, bap 14 Sep 1856 at Pewsey) of Maurice Lovelock and Louisa Stone. However, the 1861 census data for the latter family indicates that that James Lovelock was born in Hull, and there is in fact a FreeBMD record of his birth in Sculcoates RD (in the Hull area) 2Q 1848 (ref 22, 547), whereas the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census records for James and Eunice Lovelock and family state that Eunice's husband was born at Pewsey, Wilts.

Thomas L at Pewsey 1 Jan 1846. We had previously identified this burial as that of Martha née Yeates (b. abt 1813) who mar. David Lovelock at Pewsey 2 Sep 1839. email message from Graham 12 Jan 2005: "However, I can provide an argument for changing the attribution: in the 1871 Census Martha Ann nee Kent is the only Martha in Pewsey, identified by the four sons living with her. Her age is given as 55, so she could have become 56 in April, May or early June, which would make the age at death consistent. I admit I have no idea what happened to the other Martha. She was a widow in the Workhouse in 1851 of course, and she buried two of her children that year, within 4 days of each other, interestingly in Burbage. However, there is no record in our data of a Martha burial anywhere that fits or of a second marriage that I can find."
