| Marriage of a child | Thomas Lovelock — Maria Jane Barker — View this family 23 August 1874 (Age 58 years) Note: From Colin Borrott-Maloney: Daphne's and my LOVELOCKs lived at 9 Charles Street, Reading from sometime after the parents' marriage in 1874 till the parents' deaths in 1928 and 1937. Thomas LOVELOCK was a Railway Porter at Reading Station, which is not far away. I am told that in those times the trains were owned by different companies and Reading was a terminus station.The passengers had to change trains of different companies to get to their destinations and the Porters were kept busy helping the passengers to move from train to train. Whether the terraced house was a Railway employees rental accommodation or privately rented I don't know, but my Mum is sure they didn't own the house.
