Note

Notwithstanding Victoria's statements in 1910, 1920 and 1930 as to when she arrived in the USA, she actually departed Southampton aboard the SS St Paul on 29 Sep 1906, arriving in New York on 6 Oct 1906. Her husband was already living at 518 Catherine St, La Grange, Illinois, and Victoria declared that she had not been to the USA before. Her passage had apparently been paid by a brother-in-law, and she was carrying either 5 or 25 dollars. She was accompanied by daughter Victoria, aged 4, whose passage had been paid by an uncle - presumably her mother's brother-in-law.

This is all recorded on the ship's Manifest at the Ellis Island website.

Note

Arthur and Victoria sailed to Southampton in August 1923 aboard the Majestic - the same ship, apparently, on which Frederick Reader and Ethel Workman Reader and their sons were sailing. This might be how Arthur and Ethel first met.

Note

At ancestry.com the following text has been submitted by a user: "Arthur Lovelock first married Victoria Stillwell then divorced her and married Ethel Workman. After divorcing Ethel, Arthur remarried Victoria. After Victoria died, Arthur then again remarried Ethel."
