Note: Robin Lovelock email 21 Mar 06: Wife Jemima was shown as "Widow" in the 1851 census return. Graham Lovelock email 6 Apr 06: There are two deaths in Free BMD : 1Q 1839 ref 6 133, and 4Q 1849 ref 6147.The question is which is the father and which the son? We don't have the1841 Census record to clarify for us. In fact, neither of these deaths could be that of Edward Jnr (bap 8 Apr 1832 at Tidcombe), since we have him marrying Jane Nightengale Jun 1860 and having several children in the years 1861 - 1879, substantiated by 1881 and 1901 census records. 6-Jun-06: The 1841 census record provided by Robin Lovelock eliminates the 1839 GRO death entry as pertaining to this Edward L, leaving the following one as likely: Deaths Dec 1849 LOVELOCK, Edward, Hungerford 6 147. When the GRO published their Online Index of Deaths this confirmed the 1849 record as pertaining to Edward senior.
