Note | An item in the 'Reading Mercury' of 10 Jan 1846 reported on an inquest held on the body of Ruth Lovelock at Dogmersfield by Mr Shebbeare: 'The clothes of the deceased had caught fire as she was sitting alone in her father's cottage, and before assistance could be rendered, she was so severely burnt as to occasion her death after three weeks of great suffering.'
