Shared note | The 1861 Census entry for the family says Martha was aged 9 and was born in St Lukes. As it happens there is a Free BMD entry for a Martha Ellen in Jan-Mar 1850 that could just match age 9 in 1861, but that birth was in Westminster, and is probably the child at 27 Gloucester Terrace, Westminster in 1861, the child of James and Hellen as elsewhere in this tree. There was another Martha born Oct-Dec1845 in Greenwich, ref 5 241, but she was still there, at 1 Chaple (sic) Place, in 1861 and aged 15. Robert, Mary and Martha were, meanwhile, in Bloomsbury, by coincidence at 13 Chapel Place ! Jill Fleming's data has the baptism of Martha Hannah, the daughter of Robert and Mary, but in 1865 in St Pancras. |
