Signed Thos Lovelock, Olive Matton made her mark. In the Prefence of John Flight. The above marriage is also listed in Phillimore's Marriage Index for Winchester St Thomas, viewed at HRO. Birth of a son #1 | George Lovelock June 1809 (Age 30 years) Source: 1851 British Census Source: 1861 British Census Shared note: RL 19/6/07: In 1851 and 1861 census entries his age was stated as 41 and 53 respectively, suggesting birth between 1807 and 1810. However (Graham 16/3/07), his younger brother Thomas was baptised in July 1810 so George could hardly have been born later than mid-1809. Given the date of his parents' wedding (30 Nov 1807) 1807/9 is perhaps a best estimate. No PR baptism record has been identified.

Birth | RL 21/6/07: Stated age in 1841 was 60, but this could have been rounded down{}; in 1851 stated age was 71 (and b Twyford). {} Graham 19/7/06: "The official line, from the FamilyRecords.gov.uk site, is that in 1841 'For those under 15, ages were given exactly (if known): for people over 15, ages were rounded down to the nearest five years. For example, someone of 64 would appear as 60, another of 29 as 25.' We know that some enumerators did not follow the rounding down instruction, but most seem to have followed the instruction for under 15s, quoting completed years for those over 1, completed months for those over 1 month, and weeks for those under 1 month. I can't honestly recall whether I have come across an entry for a child aged less than 1 week." RL 13/7/07: PRs for Twyford have not been searched at Hants RO, but we now believe Thomas to be the subject of the following PR baptism entry (from a Modern Transcript) on the Lovelock website:1779 Sep 30 Thomas s.
