The Lieflock Line, Wootton Rivers and Tangley Trees

The most extensive family tree that we have built up we have named 'The Lieflock Line', with the progenitor Richard Lieflock (Lovelock), who was probably born about 1680 (and probably died in 1760) and extending to this century. This tree builds on a number of fragments, in particular those centred around Burbage, Easton Royal, Great Bedwyn and Milton Lilbourne, all in Wiltshire, England, but also includes additional data from Robert Sterry, and from the late Gwen Eastment and others concerning Australian Lovelock emigrants, together with numerous other contributions on specific branches.

Some time ago the elaboration of the Lieflock Line was the subject of extensive correspondence between a number of people, and you will find some of the details in the Update History for the Lieflock Line on the main Lovelock Web Site. However, that update history only covers the period up to March 2005, after which details of updates to the Lieflock Line, and the Wootton Rivers and Tangley Trees (which are linked to The Lieflock Line through marriages), can be found  in the Log Files of the What's New page.

There has been much speculation about where the Richard who is presented as the progenitor of the Lieflock Line, and who married Mary Head in Preshute on 7 July 1706, actually originated from. A discussion on the subject is included on the main Lovelock Web Site.

The progenitor of the Wootton Rivers Tree is Thomas Lovelock who married Sarah Brown in Overton on 3 March 1760.
